Stay at Silverhawk Farm

  I was looking for a quiet retreat in the woods after the holidays to disconnect, relax and recharge, & not far from Chicago. Silverhawk Farm was cozy & perfect!... read more It was very cold so the fireplace was used often. The hosts are very responsive and accommodating. The beds are comfy with beautiful linens with plush robes are provided. The kitchen is stocked. Lots of coffee making options. They left a basket of farm fresh eggs and a bottle of vino as a welcome gift. Very nice touch. The addition of the porch is beautiful and will be perfect for warmer weather. It’s close proximity to restaurants, beaches, trails, and a couple grocery stores. I’d highly recommend a stay here!

The farm eggs... read more were the best I have tasted in years and we loved getting to meet the chickens and mighty Zeus (the alpine goat). The interior was elegant and comfortable. The kitchen armed with all that you could desire and a beautiful fireplace that we enjoyed every evening together. In the day we traversed nature reserves and closed the evening with sunset walks on the beach. Simply heaven. Thank you so much for the home and for your great communication and recommendations.

Cozy veranda… our family LOVED this room and spent most of at-home time in there.
House is minutes from New Buffalo, Union Pier, the beach, and downtown Michigan City. Stephanie was such a great host, quick to respond and very helpful and friendly. We hope to stay here again next summer!

We loved the location even though... read more most everything we did was in a different time zone only 10 minutes away. Hilariously complicated at times. The chickens and goat were fun. The kitchen was packed with an array of cooking tools and seasonings which was a delightful surprise. They even had extras like ziploc bags and foil which are really nice to see in an Airbnb. Overall great stay even with the heatwave going on.

We had so much fun relaxing and listening to great songs on the sono speakers we only turned the TV on for about an hour to watch a movie (that’s something special as my husband usually always has a TV playing no matter what)!!!
